The albums discography of Crystal Gayle, an American country artist, consists of twenty two studio albums, eleven compilation albums, and three video albums. After a series of unsuccessful series of singles in the early 1970s, Crystal Gayle signed with United Artists Records in 1974 and released her self-titled debut studio album the following year, which peaked at #25 on the ''Billboard'' Top Country Albums chart. With her next two releases, ''Somebody Loves You'' (1975) and ''Crystal'' (1976), her popularity began to steadily increase. Her major breakthrough came in 1977 with ''We Must Believe in Magic'', which reached #2 on the Top Country Albums chart, #12 on the ''Billboard'' 200, and #15 on the UK Albums Chart. In addition, the release became the first studio album by a female country artist to certify platinum in sales by the Recording Industry Association of America.〔 Her follow-up release ''When I Dream'' (1978) also went platinum and was followed by a final studio album on United Artists in 1979.
